Most often than not, car owners only cares for their ride on its early months after they bought it. At first, you won't see their ride dusty or dirty. Car owners personally clean their ride because of several reasons like its their first car, or its new, or you have something to show-off to all the people you meet anywhere anytime. You always see their ride shiny, clean in the inside and no spills and stains of food as well. Really clean to appreciate and envy at. However, whether you accept it or not, as months or years goes by, those enthusiasm to take care of your ride is gone. This is where car owners rely on car wash station when it comes to cleaning. Where's the personal touch anymore?
This blog will just remind car owners or teach them again to bring back their enthusiasm in taking care of their ride. These are just the basics but usually these basics are the hardest thing for a car owner to do because they don't want to do it. Well, here they are anyways.
INTERIORS
- Vacuum
the interiors before washing the exterior. Vacuum not just the obvious part that you usually see but under seats as well. Moving the front seats all the way back and later all the way front to maximize your efforts.
- Using a clean cloth
, wipe away traces of dust from the dashboard, steering wheel, inside windshield, ceiling, side door walls and inside windows.
- You may use a cleaning solution
for dashboard, steering wheel and side door walls and even the ceiling to keep it as new. It will keep dust away and serve as protection as well in direct heat of sunlight during summer.
EXTERIOR
- Hose down the dirtiest parts of your car first: the wheels, windows, and windshield wipers. Give wheel wells a good clean with a wheel brush and don't forget the underside of your hubcaps.
- Use sponge or wash mitt
in cleaning. Don't forget to wiped off grimes on the edges of windows first before cleaning the whole car itself.
- Try using one pail of soapy water for each side of your vehicle, one for the left and one for the right. This cuts the amount of dirt that will find its way back to your car via the wash solution
. You may use a special car shampoo
to take out grease and strip off car wax. Don't ever use a dishwashing liquid in washing your ride, it will dull your car's paint and rust your fenders.
- Prevent soapy streaks by giving your car a good rinse before drying, remembering parts like door handles, gas cap covers, and the inside of side view mirrors.
- Minimize water spots by mopping up the car exterior with chamois
. You can make use of an old towel
made of 100-percent cotton on spots that you missed.
- Wash
and/or wax
your car in a shady spot as the car finish can soften in the heat of the day and get scratched as you clean. Washing in direct sunlight will also dry out water and wax more rapidly, causing streaks. If you don't have a shady spot, you can wash your car in the early morning, at dusk, or in the evening.
- When waxing, do the circular hand motion in applying and wipe it with dry rag or cotton towel to make it shine and smooth.
- Make your tires look brand-new by applying tire black
.
