I just wanted to tell a story on how the club was created. It just started when a group of young professional individuals with different stature in life were brought together to watch a yearly auto show in Manila. Different stature only means regardless of what you are in life including age can be together as good and responsible individual. There is a physio-therapist, a government employee, an investment researcher, businessman, college student, to name a few. One thing in common with these individuals are their love for cars. Anything about cars, may it be old or new, engine, body kits, sound system, wheels, paint, decals, graphics, accessories, etc. especially auto shows or events are their interest. There were lots of exchanging opinions, advices, good shops, avoid shops, new trends, good news, bad news, etc. are among the topics that everybody loves to discuss. That's where the club was conceive from just a topic then to a plan.
Steps it took to realize a plan for a club:
1. Brainstorming of what will be the club name. A club name should be unique, original, no duplicate, can bear a location and with distinct appeal when they see or hear it. So everybody concede to bear the name of "Subic Auto Club".
2. Should have a core statement to support and promote the club values. In this case i was the one who thought of the CORE acronym for Camaraderie-Oneness-Respect-Enthusiasm. That speaks the club core values itself.
3. Logo design. Since thinking of being unique. One of the member to be (since the club was not establish yet) thought of a design for the SAC acronym into a car image and everybody concede as well. (Refer to the image above)
4. Composition of Officers. This is where the usual set of officers that will organize, convene, make policies and procedures, rules and regulations for the club to abide.
With all the above steps, the time and effort of all the individuals i mentioned and with the initial members that were interested to join, the Subic Auto Club (SAC) was established.
Club profile and successful events:
Established in 2008 with an initial 9 members and grew to a remarkable 50 members as of to date.
--Record holder of the "Longest Motorcade" ever in Olongapo City during the launching of the Club in July 2008. (Approximately over 30 cars participated. Route was from all over downtown Olongapo City to the Central Business District of Subic Bay Freeport and end at Sibil Bar & Resto.)
--Acknowledged by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, Tourism Department in its participation in "Bay Clean-up Drive" in October 2008.
--Launched its 1st Fund Raising Event dubbed as "The RED Party" at Sibil Bar & Resto in February 2009
--Held its "1st SAC Family Fun Run" to Pundaquit Beach Resort, San Antonio, Zambales in April 2009
--Celebrate its "SAC 1st Year Anniversary" at Dayrit's Grill in July 2009 and Induction of New Officers at Ocean View Resort in the same month.
--Launched the first ever joint "SAC-LTO Safety and Courtesy on the Road Seminar" held at Mcdonald, Magsaysay Drive in 2009.
--Joined the first "Ocampo's Car and Motor Show" at Rizal Triangle in 2010 and garnered the "Best Car Club" Award that recognizes by all Car and Motor Clubs in Olongapo City.
--Acquired its SEC Registration as Non-profit Organization by the start of 2010. SAC is considered a legitimate club recognized by the Philippine Government.
Since establishment of the Club, some individual envy it which prompt them to establish also their own organization to duplicate what we did. One bad thing was that they want to compete with the club. However, as the former President of the Club said "We set examples, everybody likes it. Some envy it, they end up copying it! The more, the better in good deeds but no competition, just connections. Peace!"
