Weekend Featured Review: 2012 Volkswagen Beetle

2012 Volkswagen Beetle
I was wondering if there's a new production of Volkswagen beetle? Its been a while i have not seen any new beetle roaming around the metro or even here on our city. Curiosity arises, i able to search as usual to the ever vast information net and found an interesting facts with the Volkswagen beetle to share with all my readers out there.

A little TRIVIA
The Volkswagen Type 1, widely known as the "Volkswagen Beetle" or "Volkswagen Bug", is an economy car produced by the German auto maker Volkswagen (VW) from 1938 until 2003. With over 21 million manufactured in an air-cooled, rear-engined, rear-wheel drive configuration, the Beetle is the longest-running and most-manufactured automobile of a single design platform anywhere in the world.

The second generation of Volkswagen dubbed as the Volkswagen New Beetle was introduced in 1998. It draws heavy inspiration from the exterior design of the original Beetle and unlike the original Beetle, the New Beetle has its engine in the front, driving the front wheels, with luggage storage in the rear. It is classified as a compact car.

Now, the Volkswagen Beetle is in it's third generation and has been designed as a modern interpretation of the original Beetle that respects the past and looks forward to the future. After skipping the 2011 model year, the Beetle is back and completely redesigned from top to bottom.

The new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is a front-wheel drive, four-seat hatchback powered by either a 170-hp 2.5-liter inline-five cylinder or a 200-hp turbocharged four-cylinder. Transmission choices include a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic for the 2.5L, and a six-speed manual or six-speed DSG with the 2.0T. Safety features include front and side-impact airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, and daytime running lights.

Here's a shared video from Volkswagen. A guided tour of the all new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle. Enjoy watching!
